Dinner and overnight at a homestay of Nung's village in Quang Uyen.Īfter a night in the hotel in Cao Bang, you will depart for your transfer south to Hanoi. Heading back to Cao Bang, on the way, we come to visit the expansive 2,144 meter Nguom Ngao Cave to discover its brilliant stalactites. You will spend some time at your own leisure, relaxing and taking photos as you soak up the incredible surroundings of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall. Like the Tays, the Nungs largely live by farming the terraced rice paddies that you will see all around as you continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the stunning falls that span across the border between Vietnam and China. Here you will have the chance to meet the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a mountainous village famous for traditional blacksmith craft. At the homestay you can relax and unwind from the day and enjoy a meal of home cooked local food.ĭay 2: Ba Be Lake - Ban Gioc Waterfall (B, L, D)Īfter breakfast at the homestay, you will depart for Cao Bằng one of Vietnam’s most northern provinces that borders China. You will also visit the stilt houses of the Tay community in Coc Toc Village, where you will spend the night in Mr Linh's homestay. You will continue to Ba Be National Park for a boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto and the legendary Widow Island. Along the way you will stop to visit a Tay minority community, the second largest ethnic group in Vietnam after the Viets, mostly living off the cultivation of rice. You will depart early in the morning for the journey to the forest of Ba Be National Park, a drive of approximately 150 miles (230 kilometers).
