![]() ![]() I typically use the camera JPEGs as my reference correction and try to match up the corrections as close as possible given the absence of actual published technical information from Fujifilm on how their RAF metadata is meant to be interpreted or how the corrections are to be applied. The correction algorithms themselves are unique to Iridient and won't match up absolutely exactly with the camera JPEGs, though they should be very, very close in most cases. You cannot apply a custom LCP on top of the camera RAF based corrections. Only a single lens profile correction can be active at a time (either one based on the RAW metadata or from a custom LCP). Which can be used instead of the embedded RAF metadata. Iridient Developer also supports using custom LCP (Adobe's DNG lens correction profile format) files. Iridient Developer supports additional manual adjustments for distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration which can be applied on top of or instead of the RAF based corrections. In both Iridient Developer and Iridient Transformer the default lens corrections can be disabled individually (distortion/CA/vignetting) or entirely. Non-native, non-Fujifilm lenses may not include such corrections. The default corrections are based on the embedded RAF metadata generated by the camera and will automatically vary based on lens used, focal length, aperture and perhaps other camera factors. All Rights Reserved. All lens correction processing is unique to Iridient Developer and I do not use Lensfun or other open source libraries for lens correction processing algorithms.Ĭould you tell us a bit more about the fuji lens corrections in Iridient? Are you applying the built-in corrections or something else?īy default Iridient Developer (and Iridient Transformer too) apply any included RAF lens corrections for distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration. Clarity is optional and can be adjusted (min/low/med/high/strong) or disabled.Ĭopyright © 2004-2022 Iridient Digital, Inc. Iridient X-Transformer features advanced image clarity enhancement based on the algorithms featured in Iridient Developer. Noise reduction is optional and can be adjusted (min/low/med/high/strong) or disabled. The noise reduction processing in Iridient X-Transformer shares much in common with the latest noise reduction available in Iridient Developer and is specifically optimized for RAW image processing. The lens correction processing in Iridient X-Transformer uses the same high quality resampling algorithms as Iridient Developer. ![]() The lens correction stage is optional and lens correction information can also be passed on through DNG opcode metadata and left to later processing stages or ignored altogether. Corrections are based on native Fujifilm lens information specified in their RAF metadata. ![]() Automatic lens corrections for distortion, chromatic aberration and vignetting.Sharpening is optional and can be adjusted (min/low/med/high/strong) or disabled. Iridient X-Transformer features advanced sharpening based on the very highly regarded "Iridient Reveal" sharpening algorithms featured in Iridient Developer. The algorithms are identical to the latest "detail+" and "smooth" options in Iridient Developer. There are two interpolation options, one for a more detailed rendering and a second smoother, lower artifact version. This processing is always applied by Iridient X-Transformer and cannot be disabled or undone. This transforms the camera sensor's X-Trans or Bayer color filter information to produce a full color RGB image. The key RAW processing stages that can be applied by Iridient X-Transformer during conversion to DNG include: They have detailed information regarding the format on their website here: The DNG format was created and is publicly documented by Adobe. This program converts Fujifilm's proprietary RAF image data to the openly specified DNG image format. Iridient Developer is widely regarded as one of the highest quality RAW processors available. The Iridient RAW processing routines have been in active development for over 15 years for use in Iridient Developer and have been optimized and refined over the years for the best possible image quality. Much of the core RAW processing, sharpening, noise reduction and lens corrections featured in this program are shared with Iridient Developer a more full-featured RAW processor that is available only for macOS. Iridient X-Transformer is a utility that can be used to convert Fujifilm RAF images to DNG format using Iridient Digital's high quality RAW processing algorithms.
